Last year we worked with CASA of Marion to tell the story of being a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate). These volunteers spend time with children and walk alongside them as they navigate the court system. We wanted a set that looked and felt like home. Dan Ryan Homes was kind enough to allow us the use of one of their model homes. It was the perfect location, right here in town, beautifully staged and wonderfully quiet.

I feel like we need to play catch up.

Since 2018, our MotionWorks brand has been nothing but weddings. Now that we're working on a (slow and tedious) rebrand and bringing our corporate work back over here, if feels like so much has happened!

So let's see...

We bought a studio building and launched the 304 Collective. It's a shared studio and coworking space here in Fairmont. Since 2019, our corporate video work has kind of lived under that brand. We're bringing it back to MotionWorks, and letting the 304 Collective brand be *just* the studio.

Chris moved from one job to another. Rebecca was elected to city council.

We invested in a beach house with some family members.

We've got one kid starting down the path to buying a house and the other starting off at college. (In other words, we got a little old).

We had to say goodbye to our sweet pup and two of our old lady cats. We started doing TNR in our neighborhood and accumulated two new cats.

And we created a lot of video work! It's a little bit overwhelming, trying to look at what we've done for the past few years and figuring out what to start sharing here. From tourism, to non-profit, to awards video, and small businesses...there's a little bit of everything and it's been a whole lot of fun.

This year we partnered with Volunteer West Virginia to create videos featuring the 2023 Governor’s Service Award recipients.

We got to travel all around the state and meet some of the best people, doing great things in their communities.

A long overdue and bittersweet update.

After 10 years of filming weddings, we've decided that it's time for us to move on to other things. Since the beginning of MotionWorks, we've also done video work for non-profits and commercial work, and we'll be spending our video time on that. You may still see us at a wedding from time to time as we'll still help out some of our video pals when they need an extra set of hands.

For all of the couples who have trusted us with one of the most important days of your life - thank you. You have added so much joy to OUR lives over the past decade, and we will forever be grateful for that. From our very first wedding to our very last, we have LOVED getting to know you all. We have always had the most amazing of couples and getting to experience just a bit of your story has been so special to us.

I hope you'll follow along as we focus on telling another kind of story (and be a little patient as we work on getting our website and social media pointed in a new direction).
