The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) is likely going to be dead soon thanks to the most recent round of realignment.

Fun fact: the WAC has had 43 different schools in its ranks, including Mike's alma mater.

College realignment (specifically at the NCAA Division I level) is getting ridiculous.  It's effectively put one major conference (the Pac-12) into a coma, from which it will be relegated to mid-major status; and will likely be killing off another conference, the WAC (Western Athletic Conference). ...

Clips Trailer today. The Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens (aka the Habs) are two of the Original Six in the NHL and are each other's biggest rival, so it's interesting that someone in a Leafs family switched to the Habs.

This is how NOT to respond to a call for guests.

From a podcast guest Reddit call we put out:

Potential Guest:
"Hey- I would love to be a part of this - if your still looking for guest"

Mike:
"Any specific topic you'd like to talk about?"

Potential Guest:
"My back ground is wide

14*+ year in corporate leadership- leading through COVID and beyond - just celebrated 10years married to my husband. - podcasting and interviewing, was mentioned in Forbes. (Inspiring others through positivity) since 2016. Grief from losing a parent."

Mike:
"Let's see:

- Corporate leadership - I have a BBA but have almost exclusively worked in small business.

- Marriage - Can't talk about that on account of having never been married.

- Losing a parent - I lost my mother in 2010 (my father is still alive) and have talked about that experience.

I'll send you a PM and tell you privately what I'm thinking."

Let this be a lesson to potential guests - if you want to come on our podcast, please come out the gate with a specific topic you'd like to talk about. Don't come at us with a vague "I want to do your podcast" and not include a topic - because we will follow up. We want interesting topics that we can somewhat relate to and easily talk about - which unfortunately does not apply to what was provided here.

And we have turned down topics, simply because we didn't feel it was a good fit for what we're wanting to talk about.
