The Clock Tower Built From Love 🕰️

One of Fall River’s most recognizable buildings started with grief, love, and a gift to the city.

The old B.M.C. Durfee High School building on Rock Street was given to Fall River in memory of Bradford Matthew Chaloner Durfee, who died young and cared deeply about education. The building became one of the signature landmarks of the Highlands, with a five-story clock tower that once chimed 29 times each morning, marking the 29 years of his life.

That is the kind of detail that stops you for a second. A school was not just built because the city needed classrooms. It was built as a memorial, a promise, and a belief that Fall River’s kids deserved something grand.

The building still feels like old Fall River pride carved into stone.

Why not one more from the skate park? 🛹☀️

The sun was out, the park was packed, and these skaters were putting in work. You could hear the boards snapping, wheels rolling, and people landing tricks like they had been waiting all week for this weather.

Fall River, this is the kind of energy we love seeing outside.

The skate park was moving today. 🛹☀️

Beautiful sunshine, boards rolling, tricks landing, and a whole crew of skaters out there making the most of the day. This is exactly what you want to see in Fall River, kids outside, energy up, and the park being used the right way.

Beautiful day at the new Lafayette Park skate park, and the place was alive. 🛹☀️

So many skaters out there, so many tricks getting landed, and honestly, it was just cool watching the park get used the way it was meant to be used.

Drone up, boards moving, Fall River energy everywhere.

Tag a skater who needs to get down here and show us what they’ve got.

Took a beautiful ride down North Main Street, through a little bit of the Highlands, and honestly, Fall River was showing off today. ☀️

Blue skies, old homes, city streets, that Sunday ride kind of feeling where you remember why there’s still a lot to love here.

But we also have to say this part too. During the ride, we saw a young man on an e-bike with no helmet, cruising through stop signs, then riding on the sidewalk. That is not just “kids being kids.” That is how somebody gets hurt.

Enjoy the day. Ride the bike. Love the city. But please be smart out there.

Fall River looks a whole lot better when everybody makes it home safe.

Fill in the blank: The best Fall River street to cruise on a sunny day is __________.
