Marketing Monday 💡
Repetition matters in book marketing.

If you want readers to notice your book, remember it, and eventually buy it, one mention is rarely enough. Most people need to see something multiple times before they take action.

That is why repetition is not annoying when it is done well.
It is branding.
It is visibility.
It is recognition.

If readers see your book once, they may forget it.
If they see it again and again, they begin to remember your title, your cover, your message, and your brand.

That means your marketing should include repeated touchpoints over time, such as:
✨ social media posts
✨ email reminders
✨ ads
✨ event appearances
✨ content that mentions your book in different ways

You do not need to say the exact same thing every time.
But you do need to stay visible long enough for your audience to recognize you.

One post creates awareness. Repetition builds recognition.

Marketing Monday 💡
Protecting your rights is part of being an author.

If you are signing a contract with a publisher, do not assume everything will automatically work in your favor. Read carefully. Ask questions. Make sure you understand what rights you are giving away—and what rights you are keeping.

Your work has value.
Your ideas have value.
Your creative contributions have value.

A contract should protect both parties, not leave you without credit, control, or compensation for what you created.

Before you sign, pay attention to things like:
✨ ownership rights
✨ credit and attribution
✨ royalties and payment terms
✨ usage of your work, branding, or concepts
✨ what happens if the relationship ends

Not every publisher will do the right thing simply because they should.

Protect your work before you sign, not after there is a problem.

🗝️ Fiction Friday: Adventure Prompt 🧭

You inherit an old key with coordinates etched into the metal… and a handwritten warning tucked beside it:
“Do not go alone.”

The coordinates lead to a place your family never speaks about.
Now you have a choice: obey the warning or follow the trail yourself through danger, secrets, and the unknown 🌲⛰️

🔹 Who gave you the key?
🔹 What is waiting at the coordinates?
🔹 Who should go with you?
🔹 What happens if you ignore the warning?

Write an adventure story filled with mystery, risk, and discovery 🧭✨

Marketing Monday 💡
If you want to market your book well, you need to know two things:

✨ who your audience is
✨ what your competition looks like

Authors should research their readers just as seriously as a publisher would. That means understanding what your ideal audience wants, what catches their attention, what problems they care about, and what kinds of books they are already buying.

You should also study your competition.

Look at books similar to yours and ask:
📚 What covers are they using?
📚 What promises are they making?
📚 What tropes, themes, or topics are standing out?
📚 What do readers seem to love most?

Research helps you position your book more clearly.
It helps you market with intention instead of guessing.
And it helps you find the gap where your book can stand out.

The better you know your audience and your market, the stronger your marketing becomes.

Selling your book is part of your job as an author.

No matter how your book is sold—through bookstores, online, direct sales, or anywhere else—you still need to help readers discover it.

Visibility does not happen by accident.
Book sales do not happen just because your book is available.
And no one will care about your book as much as you do.

Other people and platforms may provide the channel.
But it is still your responsibility to create awareness, build interest, and give readers a reason to buy.

That means:
✨ talking about your book regularly
✨ making it easy to find
✨ reminding readers why it matters
✨ showing up consistently

Your book cannot sell if people do not know it exists.

Don’t wait for someone else to market your book. Start showing readers why they need it.

Consistency is one of the most powerful tools in marketing.

A strong marketing plan is not just about posting randomly when you feel inspired. It’s about knowing:
✨ the image you want to present
✨ the goals you want to reach
✨ the steps you’ll take to get there

Once you have that, stay with it long enough to let it work.

Even if you’re a one-book self-publisher, consistent and persistent effort can pay off.

Your audience needs to see you more than once to remember you.
Your message needs repetition to build trust.
Your brand needs consistency to grow.

Don’t just market once. Market steadily.

🗺️ Fiction Friday Prompt | Adventure

📚 The Map in the Margins

You buy a battered old book from a dusty little shop, only to discover something strange hidden in its margins: a hand-drawn map.

But this is no ordinary map.
Each landmark is marked not with names… but with sentences pulled from the story itself.

⚠️ “Beware the bridge that remembers.”
🌲 “Do not follow the singing trees at dusk.”
⛰️ “Only one traveler leaves the mountain alive.”

At first, it feels like a clever mystery.
Then the places begin to appear in real life.

🧭 Where does the map lead?
💀 Who wrote the warnings?
📖 And what happens if the final sentence is about you?

✍️ Your challenge: Write the opening scene of an adventure story where a mysterious book map pulls your character into a dangerous journey.

Optional twist: The next sentence only appears after surviving the last one.
