Known as KFIA, King Fahad International Airport is located in the city of Dammam in the eastern province of Saudi Arabia. The airport is so large that it takes up more space than both of Bahrain's airports combined.
The only international airport in the province's eastern region with two operational runways is KFIA. The airport serves as a vital link for air cargo and passengers traveling between nations in the Middle East, Europe, and Asia. The airport is also home to Saudi Aramco, the world's largest oil producer, which operates a fleet of Boeing 737 BBJs and 767s out of a dedicated terminal. The airport is also home to Oxford Saudia, the largest flight school in the Middle East, which uses a fleet of Diamond Aircraft Industries DA42s and DA40s to teach people how to fly. As part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, the academy is tasked with producing at least 1,000 pilots by that year.KFIA is larger than the entire country of Bahrain, which is an amazing statistic. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, KFIA is officially the largest airport in the world. According to the official website, the airport serves a 780 km2 region. 760 km2 is the total land area of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
