We would like to express our sadness and condolences to those affected by the loss of Carrie Stetson- owner of the Railway Cafe in Winsted, which was originally at Geer Village in Canaan. There are no words really. She was a highly respected human being and business woman and a talented go getter and I dont believe I met her personally but she took time out of her incredibly busy life to give me some great advice about opening and operating a cafe on some phone calls. She didn’t have to do that. This business seems to have a way of hardening people and it seems it didn’t do that to Carrie because she was open and kind and generous. Its just awful. And we are so sorry for everyone that is hurting from this. Please know people care. Complete strangers care. If there is any way we can help their family let us know. …
