PSA: Vulnerability Post - I hope you'll stick around for the end and give me some love so I don't overthink that I shared too much lol.
What a year it's been! We have officially been North Carolinians for over a year. And in that year I've taken a lot of time to reflect on myself personally and professionally. And I keep coming back to an overwhelming sense of gratitude.....
I’m filled with so much gratitude for all the people who have supported me along the way in my personal life and business and everywhere that overlaps. Starting my photography business wasn’t easy. It took a lot of hard work, late nights, and a LOT of learning, all while raising little ones. I vividly remember working between nap times, and even sitting at McDonald’s with my laptop, letting my kids play in the play place just so I could get a few minutes of uninterrupted work in. (And believe me, thinking about those germs in the play place now is a little scary! 😅) But at the time, it was the only way I could fit work into my day.
I also have to give a special thank you to my husband, Dan Anthony Mulhern. He has always encouraged me to follow my passion and never once made me feel like my crazy schedule was a burden. He took on so many added responsibilities at home so I could focus on building this business, and even though he’d never say that wasn’t his job, I know I wouldn’t have been able to do it all on my own.
To my friends and family—you have absolutely no idea how much your support has meant to me! From booking sessions with me early on to spreading the word about my work, you guys helped me build this business from the ground up. Whether it was offering encouragement, understanding my crazy schedule, or just being there when I needed a break—thank you. You are part of this journey in more ways than you know, and moving forward, I would love your continued support as I take this next step.
Lately, I’ve realized that while I love photography, I also love helping others grow just as much. I’ve always been passionate about collaboration, and I’m starting to lean into that more and more.
Moving forward, you’re going to see me sharing a lot more about my journey—both in business and personally. I’ll be diving deeper into what’s worked for me and how I’ve grown, in the hopes of helping others do the same. You’ll see more of my experiences with collaborations—how working with others helped me build my business faster than I could have every imagined, and tips on how you can do the same.
I’ll also be sharing insights on growth, how I’ve managed the highs and lows, and how we can all support one another as we build something meaningful.
If you're wondering how you can support me now, simply engaging with my posts, sharing with others, and offering feedback would mean the world to me!
If I’m honest, I still struggle with "imposter syndrome". Posting about myself and my accomplishments isn’t always easy for me—I often feel like, “Who am I to be giving advice?” But the truth is, I know at my core that I love helping others, and I also know that my years of experience have given me the knowledge and tools to help.
I’m pushing myself to share more because I believe that if I can help someone else grow by sharing my story, stepping outside my comfort zone is more than worth it.
So, thank you SO MUCH again for being part of this journey. I’m excited for what’s to come, and I hope you’ll continue to follow along as I share more about what’s helped me and how I plan to help others in the future.
