♥️ About five years ago, Falmouth High School became the first school in Massachusetts to form a Hope Squad—a group of roughly 40 Falmouth High School students that helps disprove the notion of teenagers being disconnected or lacking empathy in the digital age. Since its formation, Falmouth Hope Squad members and advisors have helped towns across the Cape get involved in the program.

🔊 The FHS Hope Squad, a peer-to-peer su***de prevention and mental health advocacy group advised by school adjustment counselor Catherine Fauth, works to make high school an empathetic community to which everyone belongs.

☀️ "It was 8:30 AM on a cold Monday morning in December, and the back of the Falmouth Mall—home to Shaw’s, Walmart, T.J. Maxx and Michaels—was busy with activity. Trucks lined up at the loading docks, each working to position itself to unload the day’s inventory.

While the other drivers were there to drop off goods, the volunteers had come to pick up donations the store had set aside for the food bank. This pickup program is one of many the Service Center relies on to keep its food pantry shelves stocked."

🏒 From Enterprise sports reporter Rich Maclone: "The Falmouth High School boys’ ice hockey team wants more than to just be a team that goes to the state tournament.

Sure, the Clippers won their first-round game last year, but just being in the postseason is not very satisfying.

This year’s team wants to really be in the mix of contenders and be the one other teams fear when they see they are on the same bracket line in the postseason."
