Hunting and dog training friends. This could greatly affect us all. Please use the link to easily send a communication to your senators to ask them to stand against this bill. Its a prewritten letter you can edit or just add your information to and it will automatically find and send to your senators.
H.R. 5017 would ban certain types of hounds in hunting, as well as the use of “live lures” for training or field trials. While H.R. 5017 was completely portrayed by the sponsor and supporters as only focused on ending commercial greyhound racing, the language is much more broadly written and would ban the use of sight hounds in hunting. Additionally, the language included in H.R. 5017 could go so far to impact anyone that hunts with bird dogs or scent hounds by banning the use of live animals in dog training.

Animal-rights groups have hijacked the Farm Bill with H.R. 5017. This amendment threatens hunting with hounds and bird dog training. Take action now!

Playing a bit of catch‑up on updates! We added a new member to the crew a few months back, and Birdy is already 5 months old. 🐶 This GSP has some big paws to fill, but with her champion bloodlines, we’re excited to see what the future holds. Watch for her at her NAVHDA NA Test this summer.

Not every day your best friend rolls into town and says, “Think we can go bird hunting in ND?” We hit the field and Olive was dialed in — one held point for 10+ minutes at 286 yards. Unreal. Moments like these remind you why you hunt.

It was a slow morning to the MN duck opener. Olive did however get some chances to put all her summer NAVHDA Utility training to work. Back at it tomorrow.

We have been enjoying the NDRC this summer as Olive trains for the NAVHDA Utility Test.
