Founded in Wausau, Wisconsin in 1958 by Duke Wright, Midwest Communications has grown from a single station to over 72 radio stations across Middle America. Duke, his wife Pegge, daughter Mary-Kay and sons Michael and Jeffrey oversee daily operations of this growing, locally managed, community focused media company. Having grown up in Lisbon, N.D., Pegge (Anderson) Wright would make frequent trips to North Dakota with Duke. These visits allowed him to hear and experience first-hand the heritage, community focus and tradition that is “The Mighty 790”, KFGO-AM. In 2013 Duke realized his and Pegge’s dream to finally own and operate a station of such history and integrity as KFGO-AM.
