Well yes… we were working. 😂
If you’re not having at least a little fun during an 8-hour shoot, what’s the point?

We spent the day capturing a full series of step-by-step process videos — over 30 clips. Some took a couple extra takes, not because anything was wrong, but because we wanted everything delivered perfectly.

All of the videos were filmed vertically to fit seamlessly into their online client portal.

At the end of the day, the best way to guide people with video is simple: educate them. Show the process, and the value speaks for itself.

Like, I know these are just cell phone shots of me with my camera… but let me tell you — this is therapeutic for me. It’s unedited and unfiltered, as most people would say.

The goal for me was simple: two lights, a subject, and a few elements to help drive the scene. I wanted to show small details in the background without showing the entire wall. The light is focused on certain points.

And by the way… that’s painted wallpaper in the corner of my studio.

Sure, I could have blurred the background with portrait mode on my phone, but I didn’t care about that. I just wanted to get the shot and show off this cool two-light setup. If this were for a client, it would be a different story and a different setup.

I like demonstrating looks, practicing simple lighting techniques in a small space — even a corner like this — all while making the subject (me and the camera) stand out.
