GOOD! Shelley Luther refused to let officials wreck her salon and the paychecks of the women who worked there. When they threw her in jail for the “crime” of reopening so families could eat, she became living proof that ordinary people still have a spine.

North Texas voters did not forget. They sent the woman who spent nights behind bars for keeping her doors open straight to the Texas House, where she can fight the next round of shutdowns and mandates from the inside instead of from a cell.

That is how it is supposed to work. Stand up, take the hit, and let the people decide. Luther did all three, and now she writes the laws instead of sitting under them.

Thomas Massie has made a serious allegation that deserves immediate congressional scrutiny.

The Kentucky Republican says members of his staff were threatened by the FBI in what he believes was an intimidation effort intended to stop his pursuit of the remaining Epstein files. So far, the allegation has not been independently verified, and Massie has not publicly provided enough evidence to establish exactly what occurred.

But a claim this serious should not simply be dismissed.

Massie has spent more than a year challenging Republican leaders and the Justice Department over its handling of Epstein-related records. He helped push through legislation aimed at increasing transparency, reviewed unredacted material alongside Representative Ro Khanna, and continues to argue that millions of pages potentially responsive to the investigation remain undisclosed.

If federal officials threatened or attempted to intimidate congressional staff because their employer was conducting lawful oversight, that would raise deeply troubling questions about the abuse of government authority.

Massie should release the communications, dates, and other evidence supporting his allegation. The FBI should publicly address the claim and, if necessary, answer questions under oath.

Americans should not be expected to blindly accept either side’s version of events. Put the evidence before Congress, investigate the allegation fully, and let the facts determine the truth.

An Arkansas mom and healthcare worker obtained a trove of documents about a data center deal between a local energy company and Google. Now, she is caught in a legal fight between the energy company and the news outlet she shared the documents with, with video surfacing of her being dragged into federal court Tuesday, weeping and scared.

Jessica Kivell recently sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Arkansas Public Service Commission, which regulates state electricity prices, regarding a data center deal between Entergy Arkansas and Google, according to the Arkansas Times. The government appeared to have mistakenly handed Kivell the documents, which she then sent to a reporter at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

The documents purportedly revealed that Google will not be paying the entire cost of infrastructure upgrades needed to power a new data center in West Memphis, despite claims to the contrary, according to the Arkansas Times. Google will only pay a third of the cost, $526 million, of a new solar array required to power the data center, the outlet reported.
