Nicole and Ryan would like to do some home improvements but are having a disagreement about how to fund the project. Ryan thinks that Nicole should sell some of the jewelry from her ex-husband. She never wears it out of respect for Ryan but it’s beautiful pieces, she doesn’t want to get rid of it. Ryan argues that it’s an easy $20k worth of jewelry she never wears, and they don’t have children to pass it on to, why hold onto it? What do you think?

Holly's father asked her husband, Jeff, to put $300 on his credit card when they were shopping at Home Depot because he had forgotten his wallet. Now, it's a few weeks later and he has yet to pay him back. Jeff wants to say something to his father-in-law about it, but Holly thinks it's rude to ask for the money. It's her dad and they are on a fixed income; he has to just wait until her dad brings it up. What do you think?

Jen’s brother is having a New Years Eve wedding, and both their children are in the wedding. Their daughter is five, and their son is three. Her brother, along with his fiancé, have hired a nanny to take the kids up to the hotel rooms at the venue to put the kids to sleep. Jen’s husband, Peter, is very uncomfortable with a stranger taking the kids to bed, especially a woman that they hired from Craigslist. He says he’ll ditch out and go with the kids up to the room around 9pm, or when they can’t stay up any longer. She says he’s being a party pooper; the kids will be in the same building! Just stay up and party, kiss at midnight, then they’ll go up to the kid's room. What would you do?

Christopher’s company holiday party is coming up; they have it between Christmas and New Years because the office is closed for the week. His boss asked him not to bring his wife, Katie, this year because she used to work for the company and is in the middle of suing them from wrongful termination. His boss thinks a lot of people are upset by what happened and having her there will cause a lot of unnecessary stress and put a damper on the entire party. He doesn’t think it’s a big deal and enjoys the party because they raffle off a lot of great prizes. She says that she’s not invited as a “plus one” like every other employee, he shouldn’t go to support her. He thinks she’s being childish. He still works there and has a good relationship with his team. Would you go?

Couples Court: David wants to host a New Years Eve party this year complete with all his college frat friends and their families. His wife, Erica, hates his frat buddies because when they all get together, they act like they’re 22 again, get super drunk, and then it’s basically the wives cooking, cleaning, and trying to convince them it’s time to leave because the kids are half asleep on the couch. She says this is even worse because it’ll be such a late night. Erica says the only way she’ll agree is if he only invites three of his friends, the ones she likes. He says absolutely not, it’s all eight of the guys plus their families. She says hard no. Is she being a scrooge?

Emily is an avid Facebook poster, and she just posted a photo of their family who looked very happy for the holidays. However, over the past few weeks everyone from the kids to the husband and wife have been arguing and the photo was “not approved” by the kids to post. The kids say they hate that their mom is always posting and they didn’t give “their permission to post their picture”. Her husband John thinks while they’re all arguing, it’s best not to be on social media. Emily feels that if she wants to post a picture of happy times of her family during the holiday season, she can! And it’s her social media pages, she can post whenever she wants, whatever and whoever she wants. What do you think?

Zak is obsessed with putting up holiday decorations at his home. Not because he feels the magic of the season, but because his new neighbors have gone over the top with theirs, and he’s embarrassed that his display is embarrassing. His wife, Amber, says he spent $2200 so far this year, and she’s upset about it. Forget about “keeping up with the Jonses”, they just don’t have the money for this kind of thing, especially since they need to buy Christmas presents. He argues that these are things they’ll have forever, and since there’s a line of cars down their street every night, it just makes sense to do it too. What do you think?

Tyler and Sylvia recently adopted a puppy, and their cat hates him. She has clawed his snout twice, ripped up his bed, and hisses anytime the puppy is around. Tyler has always hated cats and hates this one. The cat has gone to the bathroom on his pillow and tried to claw him many times too. His now wife, Sylvia, had the cat before they started dating and he thinks this is the perfect opportunity to bring the cat to a shelter. She says that they both stay and they will learn how to live in harmony… eventually.

Holly and Erik have been dating for six months, and he’s been spending a lot of time at her apartment. Erik thinks that he should cancel his streaming plans and use her passwords and just pay for half of the bills. It’s ridiculous that they’re paying for two Netflix, two Hulu, two Apple, etc. Holly says it’s too soon and that’s a real commitment. He disagrees. It’s just logical! What do you think?

Leslie can’t stand that her husband, Julian, wants to go grocery shopping with her every week. That means that they have to take their kids too. It becomes a huge outing, expensive, and overall stressful. She doesn’t understand why he can’t just stay home and watch the kids while she runs out for an hour. He says that he likes to see and choose the items, but admits that he can’t do the “real shopping” by himself. Can she make her husband stay home with the kids so she can shop in peace or is she mean?

While it’s still early in the season, Rebecca wants to tell her husband, Johns, family (he’s one of six) that they should do a “Secret Santa” this year. It gets very expensive with all the kids, and everyone just gets garbage. This way, everyone can just have a normal budget and buy for one person. He doesn’t like this idea and thinks you have to give people more than three weeks' notice. Plus, part of the fun is going around the room and everyone laughing about their gifts and opening them! Secret Santa is so impersonal he thinks. Do you agree?
