The Mission Appeals go on, offering an opportunity to share our mission’s experience in countries often unknown here. I usually begin my homily by asking the young people present: "Do you know where Algeria is?" Or: "Where is Myanmar?" A few seconds of silence and question marks follow! I'm not alone in my travels around the United States because Guido, a dear friend, has accompanied me twice already, and especially because Father Anand came from Tunisia to help us. We've been together in Missouri and New York, and in August we'll return to New York again, then head near Boston, and conclude in California, near San Francisco. All these trips, with dozens of hours behind the wheel, are a golden opportunity for me to discover a little more of this immense and incredible country πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ˜ PIME Missionaries

For the first time, we welcomed two young people from Milan, Giorgia and Fabio for a missionary experience in the States. They volunteer at Deo Gratias Ministries Detroit the Felician Sisters' soup kitchen in Detroit, where they serve coffee, drinks, snacks, and meals; they cultivate the community garden; they help people shop for free in the food pantry; they tell stories to children; and, above all, they live with the other volunteers. They are eight young people aged 19 to 23, of four different nationalities: American, Italian, English, and Irish. It's a wonder to see them working together, laughing, joking, and helping each other 😁 PIME Missionaries

On July 15th, over 200 people participated in the PIME Shooting Day. They joined the over 700 who, in June, decided to play golf to support seven different educational, healthcare, agricultural, pastoral, and disability projects, raising a total of over $266,000. What more can I say than: THANK YOU ✌️😁 PIME Missionaries Daniele Criscione Michelle Depue Regner

On July 30th was PIME's 175th anniversary: how much grace the Lord has given us in such a long history. How many people have welcomed, helped, tolerated, and supported us. Thank you for being among those who continue to do so: without you, we wouldn't go far. Thanks to the many friends who, from afar or in person, remembered my birthday. I was truly overwhelmed by the love and surprises! A heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you πŸ˜πŸ™ PIME Missionaries Piero Masolo

In mid-July, the 16th General Assembly of
PIME ended in Rome, electing Father Francesco
Rapacioli as the new Superior General. Father
Francesco is very talented: originally from Piacenza,
although born in Paris when his parents emigrated
to France, he has two older sisters and a twin
brother. A young missionary in India for several
years, then in Bangladesh for 15, he was rector of
the PIME Seminary in Monza before returning to his
beloved Bangladesh. In recent years, he served as Regional Superior of India and Bangladesh, shuttling
between the two countries. Along with him, Father Daniele Mazza, a missionary in Thailand, and Father
Ferdinand Kouadio, originally from the Ivory Coast and a missionary in Mexico, were elected, and Brother Massimo Cattaneo was re-elected to a second six-year term. Heartfelt congratulations to the new General Directorate: we pray for you!

Farmington Hills, July 31st, 2025
Dear friends,
Once we returned from Mexico in early July, along with Father Bruno and Father Daniele, I went to Kansas for the NRVC (National Religious Vocation Conference) Orientation Program for new Directors of Vocations, those who help and accompany young people discern their calling in life. It was wonderful to meet priests, nuns, and lay people from about twenty different institutes and dioceses, with whom we share this complex yet exciting task. I would have never imagined it before arriving here, yet vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life in the United States
exist and are gradually increasing. This is a sign that
pushes us to sow, sow, and sow again tirelessly! PIME Missionaries Piero Masolo
