Yup! It doesn’t add up, but we love it!

Trail Math That Makes No Sense

You ever get back to the trailhead after a day ride .… take a breath .… and think:
“What the hell did we actually do today?”

The Numbers Don’t Add Up

You check the mileage.

40 miles.

That’s it.

Forty.
Miles.

But Somehow…

You left at 9AM.
It’s now 5PM.
You’re exhausted.
Your back hurts.
You feel completely wore out.
And you’re trying to figure out how in the hell 40 miles took 8 hours.

Let’s Break It Down

You didn’t just ride 40 miles.

You had:
6 “quick stops”
3 “we should probably check this out” moments
2 wrong turns
1 full-blown mid-trail mechanic convention
45 minutes of “let’s just sit here and eat”
And at least one “hold up, I gotta take a leak” emergency

Then There’s the Real Time Killers

Waiting for someone to catch up.
Waiting for someone to get ready.
Waiting for someone to figure out where we’re going.
(We do a lot of waiting…)

The Honest Truth

Half the day isn’t riding.
It’s standing around…
Looking at stuff.
Talking about stuff.
Fixing stuff.
Eating stuff.

And Yet…

Ask anyone in the group:
“How was the ride?”
And every single one of them will say:
“Hell of a day.”

Because That’s the Secret

It was never about the miles.
It was about everything that happened between them.

Still Doesn’t Explain the Math Though

Forty miles…
Eight hours…
Zero explanation.
And you know what?

We'd do it all over again.... 😆
