Paris vacation in bites: D’s first drink was a Saint-Germain spritz, since he was staying steps from the neighborhood (and church) it’s named after. Croissants, melon gazpacho, escargot (yes, on purpose), a burger across from the Louvre, cod fritters that he’d love to have again, and enough cheeses, chocolate, pastry, and sorbet to require a nap. Sun up to rosé at night. Bonne nuit.

London holiday in bites: Borough Market chaos, fish and chips wrapped to go, and a Shakespeare-themed afternoon tea that D almost didn’t have the heart to eat (there’s a skull dessert glass, RIP Yorick). Oysters, steak and chips, and a very fancy piece of fish at the Royal Exchange. A proper pub pint to wash it all down. Left a sticker by the Thames. If you’re in London, go find it. Cheers!

Did you take a side on Max and Darren’s debate over whether MTV shut down? 🤔 📺

On 12/31/25, 24-hour music channels (MTV Music, MTV 80s, MTV Live) across the UK and international markets did go off the air. The last video on MTV Music was “Video Killed the Radio Star”—the exact video that launched the channel in 1981. Stateside, MTV, MTV2, and MTV Classic (still showing videos) are still alive, but the line-up on the main channels is basically a 24-hour loop of Ridiculousness reruns and The Challenge and Jersey Shore spin-offs. So MTV didn’t die; it just stopped trying. Us? We’ve got about 40 or so years left in us too. 😎
