🎨 The creative industry doesn’t need more competition. It needs more community.

There’s room for all of us to grow, learn, collaborate, and win together. The person you see as competition today could be the person who sends you your next client, refers you a project, or helps you get to the next level.

Stop trying to outdo everyone around you. Start building relationships with them.

Community over competition. Every time.

📲 Your social media followers might not be ready to book you today.

And that’s okay.

A bride might find your page while she’s dating, follow you for your personality and content, and watch what you create for months—or even years.

Then one day, she gets engaged.

Now she’s not looking for a videographer who just showed up in her feed. She already knows you. She’s seen your work, your personality, your process, and the kind of experience you provide.

That’s the power of social media.

💼 Your current job might have nothing to do with your dream — but that doesn’t mean it’s useless.

If you’re discouraged because you’re working a job that has nothing to do with the creative business you want to build, go all in anyway.

Learn how to communicate.
Learn how to lead.
Learn how to sell.
Learn how to manage people.
Learn how to solve problems.
Learn how to show up when you don’t feel like it.

You never know which skills from your “temporary” job will become some of your greatest strengths as an entrepreneur.

On the podcast, Bo Cunningham shared that before building what he has today, he used to deal with sheep manure.

Talk about humble beginnings.

But the point isn’t the manure. It’s what he learned along the way.

Don’t despise the season you’re in just because it isn’t the destination you want.

Give that job everything you’ve got. Learn everything you can. Build the discipline, character, and skill set you’ll eventually take with you.

⏳ Time is valuable. There’s a difference between having a packed calendar and building a sustainable creative business. Taking on more and more work at lower rates might keep you moving, but eventually it can also lead to burnout, rushed work, and constantly feeling behind.

Sometimes the better move is fewer projects, better clients, stronger work, and higher standards.

Charging more isn’t about ego. It’s about creating space to think deeper, serve clients better, and actually produce work you’re proud of.

The goal isn’t to do more work.
The goal is to do better work.
