State Line Tribune We are the "Official Publication of Parmer County", and the oldest newspaper in this area. We started in Texico in 1912 and moved to Farwell a few years later.

We proudly serve the Farwell, Texico, Lazbuddie and Bovina communities.

Can you believe this is the 68th annual Area Merchants Football Contest?
Get ready folks, this is going to be a good one.
If you've never played, we will have the forms in the Tribune each week and you just need to send in your picks.
Weekly cash prizes for 1st and 2nd place.
Grand prize is $400 cash.
Just circle the winners of the games, and pick a score for the tie breaker at the top.
The tie breaker is only used if there is a tie.
Each year hundreds of folks play, and I'm betting this year will be no different!
The contest is 12 weeks long and free to play!

The City of Texico water system will be completely shut down Wednesday, August 26 from 9:00 AM–10:00 AM while City crews repair a main line water leak.

Water service will be unavailable citywide during this time. Please plan ahead for any water needs before 9:00 AM.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while this necessary repair is completed.

💧 Important Water Notice

The Brown Well on North Lamar will be temporarily out of service beginning August 17 while improvement work is completed. The project is expected to take about 10 days.

During this time, only one other well will be providing water service. We ask residents to please conserve water as much as possible, especially by limiting outdoor watering and unnecessary water use.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as these important improvements are completed!

Farwell Fire Chief Daniel Kaltwasser sprayed water onto the courthouse lawn today.
The water was donated from Bovina and Friona to keep the lawn going while the city water tanks refill.
County Judge Izzy Carrasco said the lawn is a shared community space for the county and wanted to make sure folks know the commissioners are going the extra distance.
He also said this water did not come from a municipal source, so it cannot legally be pumped into the water towers.

The local schools were locked down as a preventative measure.
There was no threat to the schools.
Law enforcement was being extra safe.
