WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Fayette Park & Rec has applied for a grant from the Land Water Conservation Fund through the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs.

We have been told that we need more letters of support in order to be considered for this much-needed grant to improve our Park.

When we asked for letters a few months ago, we had plenty of people that shared our post and made comments (and we really appreciate that!), but we NEED actual letters that we can submit. We received about seven letters, but need about 30-40 more.

With this grant, we plan to fully upgrade our seven baseball/softball fields at Guthrie Smith Park with new fencing, LED lighting, and field work to help improve drainage and playability. We also would like to replace fencing at the Skippy Hocutt Tennis Courts. As funds become available, we also are looking towards adding tennis/pickleball courts and continuing maintenance on our existing courts.

As part of the grant process, we need public input; specifically, letters of support. We are requesting that members of our community compose letters telling why and how you think these upgrades, specifically the work on the baseball/softball fields, would benefit our Park and the City of Fayette.

Please mail the letters to:
Fayette Park & Rec
218 23rd St NE
Fayette, AL 35555

You may also bring the letters to us at our office, located at the Fayette Aquatic Center, Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., or email them to us at [email protected] .
We need these letters of support by September 29.

PLEASE HELP US BY WRITING A LETTER AND GETTING IT TO US BY SEPTEMBER 29.
