Recap shortened for Instagram but what a weekend! The final competition event at my home track, Pittrace. I was trying to live in the moment and enjoy this place as much as I could one last time so I didn’t end up taking as many pictures as I would have liked. Nonetheless I’d say it was a successful weekend. The first session Friday morning it was cold, like 36 degrees. The track was slick at first but after a couple warm up laps we were good to go. I ended up breaking the fwd record by 1.3 seconds with a 1:55.975 which I was super pumped about. This put me in 2nd place. The next two sessions the weather warmed up and we had drifting on full track so the grip plummeted as usual. I’d be up over half a second and then instantly lose it at t7 as I entered the esses with less grip. The next morning was slightly warmer but still great conditions and I proceeded to beat my record again with a 1:55.78. was clawing away at his time and now sat at a 1:56.66 behind me. And previous fwd record holder was not far back with a 1:57.19 and is known to run faster times in worse conditions 😅 The podium sprint is the last session and they take the top 5 drivers and reset their times and give them 3 laps to put down a fast time. Three mins before we went on track it started raining which was not ideal. I ended up making the executive decision to take it easy to not put the car into a wall. Andy holst put down a great wet lap to secure 1st with Eddy and Bucky following close behind for our podium. Great driving by these guys I’m glad I got to battle it out with them one last time at Pittrace and I got to walk away with the street fwd record. Had a great time with my family, who came up Saturday to cheer me on, and everyone else who came to hang out. I’ll miss you guys! Thank you Gridlife for hosting these great events and bringing us all together for the perfect send off for Pittrace.
