Kim here tonight! I asked Luis to sketch me something simple to practice watercolors & he sketched a plant. He was copying a Google image & I tried to mimic the coloring in the leaves. The first leaf (far left) I completely forgot rule #1 with watercolors....LIGHT COLORS FIRST! I began with darker greens & worked my way in with yellow. It's obviously the worst looking leaf 😅 but I pushed forward & finished! I feel like each leaf has something I like and something I don't. I didn't even attempt shadows as I'm still learning just basic application of watercolors. This was fun to attempt and most of all I look forward to one day comparing this to a future painting as I continue to practice.

A good dancer makes her moves look natural. What seems to be an effortless movement only comes from countless hours of discomfort and repetition. Repeated over and over, pushing through pain until it because second nature.

Your body tells a story. It's a story of repetitive patterns you have created. Repetitive over a long period of time. This is what creates your "normal." It is what dictates to your brain what is the path of least resistance. This is why some things feel good, and others hurt.

But change is difficult. In order to change and improve how our bodies feel and move, it's going to require a path of resistance. Countless repetitions that in time will transfor your anatomy.

With effort, consistency, and time, you too can move effortlessly. The question is, are you willing to commit?

Done with my Disney Villains cartoon series. Back to practicing what I enjoy drawing the most: The human body. Particularly the human body in motion.

This is a quick study from a Degas sketch. Currently my biggest influences are Edgar Degas for capturing motion, Fabian Perez for his use of light, and Steven Houston for showing the grit that comes with true athleticism.
