This is music for long walks in the woods at golden hour, for dancing at your uncle’s birthday party in the Shire, for the moment when the campfire has begun to dwindle and the darkness of the forest begins to encroach.

No Depression’s Spotlight Artist of the Month is Jude Brothers. You can read this beautifully written feature from Meredith Lawrence on the site now. (Link in bio)

“Stories like these — divined, retold, and passed down — are the ultimate currency for human beings, forging connection and understanding. And to make folk music in spite of the pain, perhaps because of it, is its own sacred ritual – a salve for untold generations past. In their footsteps, Brothers’ Maiden Voyage becomes its own symbol, a beacon in the darkness, guiding a return to the inimitable joy and wonder of being alive.”

Hell yeah. Dogwood Maiden Voyage is out September 25th

BELIEVER IS UPON US
It is Angela Autumn ascension season. Thank you Spotify for fixing your terrible gaze upon A N G E L A • A U T U M N and putting her on the cover of Indie Twang. I didn’t understand what this playlist meant until “Electric Lizard” came out in 2023 and it wound up there.

Records are here and we begin fulfillment tomorrow
