After consulting with the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ), the advisory for PWC water customers has been lifted and it is no longer necessary to boil your water prior to use. Tests have confirmed water meets safe drinking water standards and can be used for any purpose. Discoloration is normal and the water is safe to drink, be sure to flush your water lines for a few minutes before using it. This is especially important for locations that have not been occupied or had low water usage during the advisory period. PWC will continue to flush our lines to limit any cloudiness or discoloration. Any ice made during that time should be discarded. Businesses that serve or prepare food for human consumption should coordinate with their regulatory oversight agency to make sure all requirements are met. PWC thanks you for your patience and understanding during this event. Customers can help PWC by continuing to conserve their water usage while PWC addresses the ongoing situation.
