First stories of the semester and they started us off strong 💪💪💪

Do you want your voice heard and your stories read? Submit your stories any time before 5:00pm on Fridays for our Editors to read through them and have the chance to see them posted on our website and social media!

After around 12:30 pm today, Fayetteville State University’s students, staff, and faculty were issued an email from the Interim Chief of Police, Alpha Clowney, stating that FSU has received a threat to the campus.

The email further states that “the Department of Police and Public Safety is actively investigating in coordination with the Fayetteville Police Department and State and Federal partners.”

This occurs simultaneously as reports of other HBCUs across the country are going into lockdown for terroristic threats.

There is speculation that these threats are a response to the recent assassination of right-wing, conservative activist, Charlie Kirk, but there is no way to confirm any correlation.

Fayetteville State will continue operations until further notice.

Update: At 3:20 pm, another email from Clowney states “. . . there is no viable threat to the campus at this time.”
