479 Media Launches “Freedom FM 101.5,” Northwest Arkansas’ First FM News Talk Station
GREENLAND, ARK. — ROX Radio Group, LLC, doing business as 479 Media, announced today the launch of “Freedom FM 101.5,” a new full-service News Talk radio station serving Fayetteville, Springdale, Bentonville, Rogers, Siloam Springs, and all of Northwest Arkansas.
Freedom FM 101.5 will become the first commercial News Talk station on the FM band in Northwest Arkansas, offering listeners a clearer, more accessible way to stay informed and engaged with the issues that matter most.
The station’s weekday lineup will feature a strong slate of nationally recognized voices, including Michael DelGiorno, Glenn Beck, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton, Dana Loesch, and Joe Pags, delivering a full day of news, opinion, and discussion.
In addition to its talk lineup, the station will provide national news updates around the clock, 24/7, along with financial news coverage from Bloomberg, locally produced news from the 479 Media newsroom, and an expanded commitment to severe weather coverage ahead of the fall storm season.
“We’re incredibly excited to bring News Talk to the FM dial in Northwest Arkansas,” said General Manager Mark “Haystack” Wells. “This is about accessibility and service. People want to stay informed wherever they are — in the car, at work, or on the go — and FM simply delivers that experience better. Freedom FM 101.5 is built to be a daily companion for listeners who care about what’s happening locally, nationally, and financially.”
Wells added that local coverage will be a major focus. “We’re investing in our newsroom and prioritizing timely, relevant information for Northwest Arkansas. That includes everything from breaking local news to in-depth storm coverage when it matters most.”
Owner John Lykins emphasized the significance of launching the format as a locally-owned company.
“479 Media is proud to be Northwest Arkansas’ only locally-owned full cluster of commercial radio stations,” Lykins said. “Freedom FM 101.5 reflects our mission to serve this community with meaningful content while giving local businesses a powerful and affordable platform to reach customers. We believe there’s a real need for this kind of station, and we’re uniquely positioned to deliver it with a local-first approach.”
Freedom FM 101.5 will also be available anywhere through the 479 Media App, allowing listeners to stay connected to live programming, breaking news, and weather coverage on the go.
The launch of Freedom FM 101.5 represents a continued expansion of 479 Media’s commitment to providing entertainment, information, and marketing solutions tailored specifically for Northwest Arkansas — often at significantly more accessible rates than corporate-owned competitors.
Listeners can tune in to Freedom FM 101.5 on the FM dial or stream it live through the 479 Media App and station digital platforms for updates on programming, show lineup details, and breaking news coverage.
