Now for some reason I could not hype Nightbird Books in my last post, so here's and cheers to making up for it! Almost exactly three years ago High Lonesome played our first show in the Nightbirx breezeway. 25 months ago, we recorded a much improved us, live, in that same spot.
Thank you big time, Lisa, Elizabeth, and Max especially, for keeping Fayetteville enchanted with the written word, and for supporting the arts -- even when it means losing money. Big love to Nightbird and Happy 3rd Birthday to High Lonesome!

For this live recording I used one mic to capture the guitar and drums, and recorded bass and vocals directly into a digital 8-track 'pocket studio' and bounced those into one before mixing what would be two tracks total.
It's a blessing when your usual equipment does not cooperate. Being limited forces you to be innovative.
I think this one turned out pretty well.

Hey, everybody. For the next couple of months I'll be rethinking and replenishing the studio. Until then I'll be offering bass lessons and low-key loft sessions with solo acts and soft combos. Speaking of which: starting work with Devin Nu Phlo bright and early Wednesday, y'all.
