Ladies… can we talk for a second? 🤍
I know we love telling our husbands everything. I do too.
But one thing God recently convicted me of is that venting to your spouse can become sinful.
That was a hard pill for me to swallow because I genuinely thought I was just expressing my frustrations. Instead, I was rehearsing them. Replaying them. Feeding them. And before I knew it, those conversations were shaping my heart more than God’s voice.
I’m not saying we shouldn’t be honest with our spouses. We absolutely should.
But there’s a difference between seeking wisdom together and repeatedly dwelling on offenses in a way that stirs up bitterness, agreement in frustration, or gossip.
Scripture says, “Too much talk leads to sin…” (Proverbs 10:19)
That verse read me 🫠
God had to show me that what I called “venting,” He was calling me to surrender.
So here’s the question I’ve been asking myself:
Are my conversations leading me closer to God… or deeper into my frustrations?
I unpack this whole experience in my latest Substack article, including how God lovingly corrected me and changed my perspective.
