Meet Manhattan Ellison, a sophomore from Pocola, Oklahoma, and the multimedia editor for The Arkansas Traveler!

After beginning as a staff reporter, Manhattan participated in the Multimedia Journalism and Art Study Abroad Program in Bolivia this summer. She traveled across the country interviewing locals and created a video project about Todos Santos, an ancient tradition honoring deceased loved ones.

Meet Emma Grace Beard, a senior from Bearden, Arkansas, majoring in Broadcast Journalism and Advertising/Public Relations. As a UATV anchor and reporter, Emma Grace serves as a main news anchor, sports reporter, entertainment anchor, and live reporter, gaining experience across a variety of on-air roles.

“My favorite part about UATV has absolutely been the people! The friendships and mentorships I’ve built have made such an impact on my college experience. Beyond that, I love that UATV gives students the chance to tell meaningful stories and gain real-world experience. It’s been the perfect place to grow my confidence and prepare for my career in broadcast journalism. Student Media has allowed me to step outside my comfort zone, try so many different roles, and discover what I love most about storytelling!”
