“On the steps, with my homies, the only heaven that I know”

Just finished a little project. We wanted to open the back porch up, not only to make load-in more accessible, but also to create an outdoor stage so we can host some small gatherings this fall. Not bad for a day’s work!

Major ups to the one and only for leading the build and making sure this thing can support the weight of a baby grand piano and whatever else we throw at it.

A few changes in progress over here - we will be taking the next month or so to reset the control room and sink in a couple new pieces. I will do my best to share the fun bits. As we lean into this next chapter - I am all ears. What have you been listening to? No shame or judgement, drop it in the comments…✌️

This has been a studio mainstay since it was gifted from years back, and I just noticed something for the first time looking at it. I shall not say what it is. Ironically it is a comparison of sorts, which in this particular case still managed to bring me joy. Time to get this in a frame!!!

Good for what ails ya! This is by far the best thing I’ve found to beat a head cold/sore throat, not to mention a decent vocal warm up ‘tea’. I also grew that lemon so I am proud of that! ☺️

Congrats to and crew on the release of “Alone with Friends” - this was the first project I took on at the house since moving the studio from the square and happy to see it out in the world. Some of the best musicianship I’ve had the privilege of capturing lately, not to mention my favorite kind of tracking - live and together in the same room straight to tape. There are little treats on each one of these, I highly recommend a listen.

Just turned in mixes for the first session I got to use these on and all I have to say is wow. Easily the best mics in my collection. You are looking at a matched pair of restored Soviet tube microphones based on Oktava/LOMO tech from AEG in Moscow. Long journey to get here but safe and sound in AR : ) Thanks again for the recommendation - just wait till you see the preamps I got to match 😜
