St. Louis County and the National Weather Service are warning folks in the KCFV listening area about the strong potential for extreme severe weather tonight, including damaging high winds in excess of 80+ MPH, a high possibility for strong tornadoes, and the potential for damaging hail. Be weather aware and ensure you have a way to receive emergency alerts, such as a fully charged cell phone, battery operated radio, or battery powered weather radio. Be safe and weather aware tonight.
SEVERE WEATHER ALERT - The National Weather Service is requesting partners to share important information with the public.
The National Weather Service is warning that this evening's storms could potentially produce tornado activity similar to what was experienced in St. Louis in 2011. This is a life-threatening situation.
Please be cautious if you are attending fish frys, sporting activities, and other gatherings.
If you have a life-threatening emergency, please call 911. Otherwise during the storm, we ask citizens to avoid calling 911 for non-life threatening emergencies such as loss of power, down trees that are not threatening a life or the status of services like internet.
Please KEEP THE LINES CLEAR for true emergencies.
