Three Rye Whiskeys. One Maryland Story.

Most whiskey drinkers can tell you about Kentucky bourbon. Ask them about Maryland rye and you might get a blank stare.

That’s part of what makes these three bottles from Sagamore Spirit so interesting. Maryland has a long history with Rye whiskey. Long before prohibition, Maryland Rye was known for its distinctive character - spicy, full-bodied and a little different from the rye coming out of Pennsylvania another whiskey producing regions.

Prohibition nearly erased that tradition but today Sagamore Spirit is helping bring that back. We recently tasted three expressions from their Core Collection, and while they share the same Maryland style foundation, they take the whiskey in three very different directions:

🥃 Small Batch Rye - approachable, balanced and cocktail-friendly. This is a great introduction to Maryland rye and Sagamore.

🥃 Double Oak Rye - richer and deeper, with additional time in toasted barrels. This one deserves the attention of those who generally prefer bourbon over rye whiskey.

🥃 Cask Strength Rye - the heavyweight of the trio with big, bold flavors and the price to back it up.

It’s NATIONAL WHITE WINE DAY!

And we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than with two very different California whites from Dry Creek Vineyard.

we opened the 2025 Sauvignon Blanc from Dry Creek Valley and the 2025 Dry Chenin Blanc from Clarksburg. And while they’re both dry, refreshing white wine, that’s about where the similarities end.

What makes these wines even more special is the history behind them. Dry Creek Vineyard has been making both varietals for decades, with Sauvignon Blanc, and Dry Chenin Blanc woven into the winery’s story since its earliest days.

🌟 ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING 🌟

Does everything Drew Thorn touches turn to gold? It would sure seem that way. He’s got another incredible bottle from his label Silverthorn Reserve and it is blowing us away!

It’s a blend of 8 barrels, aged 10-14 years and you would swear this is a single barrel offering. 115 proof and this one needs to be on your “I gotta get this now” whiskey list!
