Fitchburg Access Television (FATV) FATV is your local community access television station. "Working Together for A Stronger Community" FATV is an independent non-profit 501(C)(3) organization.

As the PEG Access Television station of Fitchburg, MA, we are comprised of Public, Education, and Government programming for the citizens, by the citizens. Our Mission is to provide equipment, training, and channel time to the members of the Fitchburg community for the purpose of building community, empowering the individual, and ensuring First Amendment expression through the utilization of television technology.

❄️When extreme cold or storms hit, the City will once again open an overnight, low-barrier Warming Center at the Fitchburg Senior Center, 14 Wallace Ave. The site is organized and staffed by the Fitchburg Health Department, Street Outreach and Prevention office.

What to know:
• Purpose: short-term emergency space to prevent injury and death in dangerous weather
• Services: a cot, blanket, hot coffee and light food, plus connections to shelter, housing, detox, medical and behavioral health, and recovery support ☕🧣
• Access: during activations, call Fitchburg Street Outreach at (978) 868-6482 for info 📞
• Safety: professional staff on site, only staff and guests may enter while open

Starting: 8:00 AM on Tuesday, December 2, 2025
Ending: 8:00 AM on Wednesday, December 3, 2025

During a parking ban, parking is not allowed on city streets.

Per City Code §169-35 it shall be unlawful for the owner, operator or person in charge of any vehicle (other than one acting in an emergency) to park such vehicle on any public street in the City of Fitchburg for the duration of the Winter Parking Ban. Vehicles that violate the parking ban are subject to ticketing, fines, and/or removal at the owner’s expense.

Please also note that per City Code § 169-35:
-Handicapped parking areas located in residential zones are EXEMPT from the Winter Parking Ban.
-Metered parking may be used from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM during the Winter Parking Ban, unless specified otherwise.

The duration of the Snow Emergency/Winter Parking Ban may be adjusted as weather and road conditions allow.

Per City Code §157-33, residents and property owners are responsible for keeping sidewalks clear of snow and ice adjacent to their property.

Fitchburg Civic Days, FATV, Fitchburg Parks, Fitchburg High School Band & Chorus, and our public safety crews are teaming up to bring music, lights, and holiday cheer.

Bundle up for a rain, snow or shine event... bring your family and friends and join us for some complimentary hot cocoa, coffee and snacks from Mera's Cakes with a special visit from the Grinch and Santa Claus and come help us light up the Upper Common together ⭐

Rise & Grind on Main St will be open with food, drinks and music starting at 4:30pm.

Bring your letters to mail to Santa in our Santa Mail Box Express to the North Pole in the Upper Common in front of the Post Office! Put your return address for a special response from Santa!
