Tuesday evening, members of the Fitzwilliam Fire Department participated in Wildland Fire Training as we continue preparing for the upcoming brush fire season. Crews reviewed wildfire behavior, brush fire suppression tactics, equipment operations, hose deployment, and firefighter safety in wooded and difficult terrain.

With dry conditions and changing weather patterns, staying proficient in wildland operations is critical to protecting our community and surrounding mutual aid areas. Training like this helps ensure our members are ready to respond quickly, safely, and effectively when needed.

Thank you to all of our members who took time out of their evening to train and strengthen their skills.

This week, members of the department took part in an intensive search and rescue training focused on locating and removing victims from simulated emergency environments at the Drill Yard.

Crews worked through low-visibility conditions, practicing systematic search techniques, communication, and coordinated victim removal. These evolutions are designed to replicate real-world fireground challenges where time, teamwork, and precision make all the difference.

We’re proud of the continued dedication our members show to sharpening their skills and serving our community at the highest level.

Members of Fitzwilliam Troy Ambulance recently participated in EMS training focused on sepsis recognition and discussion of Monadnock's Mobile Integrated Healthcare. The session was led by Joshua Patrick, MPSLA, CP-C, and provided valuable insight into early identification, treatment, and evolving patient care strategies.

Ongoing training like this ensures our providers stay prepared to deliver the highest level of care to our community. Thank you to Joshua for sharing his knowledge and helping strengthen our team.
