After being a fan for nearly a decade, last night and I got the incredible chance to see perform down in Phoenix!

It was simply a magical experience to hear him play some of our favorite songs including Fides Tua and Markos and Markos in addition to some improvisational pieces.

I’ve seen many piano and jazz performances over the years, but this one by far is my favorite! Tigran has one of the most unique and inspiring voices of melody in contemporary music.

His fusion of modern progressive rock/metal (djent even?) and Armenian folk is unlike anything I’ve ever heard before.

The crowd was pretty odd, with many in attendance older Scottsdale residents who were likely members of the Museum of Musical Instruments, and some, like us, who found Tigran through metal music- think old people and metal heads with tattoos familiar with his work with members of Animals as Leaders.

The solo piano performance was so captivating- hopefully someday we will get the chance to see him with a full band!

It is incredible what powerful emotions can be evoked through the power of music without hardly any words.
