It’s come to our attention that many have not received this week’s Moody County Enterprise. We’ve learned the postal sorting facility in Sioux Falls may not be in operation at the time and mail was most likely sent to Des Moines for sorting.
We’re very sorry for this inconvenience but it’s out of our control once they leave the Flandreau PO. Hopefully area subscriber’s newspapers will show up on Friday to the proper post offices for delivery to your mailbox.
In the meantime, our website still offers a free digital version to read.

Congratulations to all involved in seeing this day through to fruition the new Boys & Girls Club of Moody County Early Childhood Enrichment Center, aka The Clubhouse! Today, city, tribal and Club leaders, alongside founding partners, the Ramsdell family, offered the community a first look inside the incredible facility.

The Clubhouse, a unique and groundbreaking resource for young families, is scheduled to open in early May. More on what it means to the Flandreau and surrounding communities, in next week's edition.

Late in getting this shared but want to ensure the broader community has seen: Suspect is in custody.

!!!! IN CUSTODY!!!!!

We have been made aware that Zachariah Ryan was taken into custody 03-06-26. He was taken into custody without incident.

As a reminder, It's always good a practice to keep your property and your vehicles locked and secure.

Thank you for all the tips, from citizens and to all the agency's who assisted in locating him.

Update as of 03-05-26 at 645 pm. At this time we still do not know the whereabouts of Zachariah Ryan. We followed up on many different leads through out the day, and never were able to come up with confirmation it was him. Thank you for all that called in and sent messages; we don't always monitor the messages, especially while we are busy following up with tracking down possible sightings or suspicious activity in places.
At this time we are still following up with any leads that come our way. The Department of Corrections (DOC) now has a Valid Warrant for him as an Absconder. So if we do locate him we will actually have something to hold him on. At this time Moody County Law Enforcement have not witnessed him committing any crimes. So the Warrant from DOC is a huge asset to be able actually hold him in custody

Update as of 0853 03-05-26.

A report was called in of a possible match near 471st Ave and 231 St north of Jerry's Electric. Units converged on the area with man power and air support in the form of a Drone from the Flandreau Santee Tribal PD. A residence north of this area was cleared and no one was found, by either the ground or the air.

Subject is Zachariah Ryan.

People are still encouraged to lock up residences and vehicles. If you see something out of the ordinary please contact 911.

The Moody County Sheriff's Office has been assisting Sioux Falls PD, Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office along with SD Highway Patrol in locating a subject who is currently on Parole and has Absconded. He was last seen around 530 pm on 03-04-26 in a vehicle that was found wrecked and abandoned near 238th St and 468th Avenue south of Colman. He is believed to be dangerous and may have a weapon with him. Unknown for sure at this time. Unknown direction of travel on foot from the wrecked vehicle in a field. As of 816 pm same date, his whereabouts are unknown. Residents in the area are encouraged to lock all vehicles and out buildings. If you see anything unusual in the area we urge you to call 911 to report it. We also encourage you to not engage this individual. He is described as a Native American male with head, and neck tattoos. Last seen wearing a camouflage sweatshirt. We would also like to thank Madison Police Department for assisting with their Drone. And thank you to Lake County Sheriff's Office for their assistance for helping with the perimeter. If you know his whereabouts you are also encouraged to contact your local law enforcement.
