Was this justified… or did it go too far?

This is one of those moments where the internet is going to split in half.

Legally, the question is not whether it looks scary. The question is whether the person reasonably believed they were facing an imminent threat of serious harm.

Tactically, the question is different: just because you can do something, does that mean it was the best decision?

You decide.

Better training, supervision, hiring, retention, accountability, body cameras, and crisis teams all cost money.

You cannot defund your way into better policing.

This cop threw out a Hail Mary and somehow it worked 😂

Officers had searched the place several times and still couldn’t find the suspect. Then one officer tried the most random tactic possible… “Marco” — and got a “Polo.”

As funny as it is, I actually give these officers credit. They stayed calm, didn’t get too worked up, and used a little emotional intelligence to bring it to a peaceful end.

That’s the kind of policing we like to see.

This tourist kept saying the officer touched him.

The officer stayed calm, stayed professional, and showed a level of patience that honestly surprised me.

Was this cop too patient, or did he handle it perfectly?

You don’t have to agree with defunding to understand why some people stopped wanting to fund something they no longer trusted.
