Join For-Mar Naturalists for a fishing skill refresher. This class will feature knot tying, casting, and fish ID. Fishing poles and bait will be provided. Anglers over 16 must have a valid fishing license.

Ages 13 and older

Welcome September! With all its moody breezes, long shadows and sweet, crisp scents.

This week's paper-wrapped bouquets feature the phenomenal, iridescent orange 'Bar Bossa Ch*****ne' brain celosia, green and carmine zinnias, white lisianthus, black ninebark & more. What a palette to usher in fall!

I hope to see you at the Flint Farmers' Market on Saturday. I'll be there through September with fresh flowers, as long as the weather holds, then the first two weeks of October with our *dried floral pumpkins.* 🧡🎃

Who else loves the enchantment of autumn?!

"You can never get enough books into the hands of enough children" - Dolly Parton

In honor of the passing of Dolly Parton and her legacy of gifting books to millions of children worldwide, Sloan Museum of Discovery and Longway Planetarium will be hosting a Community Book Drive throughout the month of September! The books collected from this event will be given away for free to community members. If you have any books that you would like to donate - whether they be new, gently used, or well loved - please bring them to the drop boxes located at the front of each building.
