On this morning’s edition of the Blues and Arts Hour, we looked back at some of the outstanding musical artists we hosted in 2023. Some amazing talent was showcased throughout the year! I would have loved to have highlighted all of them on today’s show; however, our time was limited. But, I do hope you enjoy the program commercial-free at: http://wyab.com/twh/Jim'sLastProgram20240105wyab.mp3
Thanks so much to the longtime sponsor of the Blues and Arts Hour, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Mississippi. It’s good to be blue!
Special message: This show will be the last program for me to host as I’m winding up my broadcasting career which started back in Jan. of 1979. And what a wonderful journey it’s been! There are so many people that I’d like to thank. . . too many to name, but I would like to say a special thank-you to the staff and management of WYAB for allowing me and all of the other talkshow hosts here to address issues that are not necessarily politically correct. Especially the prolife issue which has been of utmost importance to us all! The Blues and Arts Hour will continue with another host. So, please keep listening! I’d love to hear from you if you’d like to message me here or send an email to [email protected]. And finally, I cannot sign off without acknowledging you, the listener. Many of you I have met or corresponded with through the years! Ya’ll are the very, very best!. So thanks again! And may God bless you and your family in 2024 and in the years to come!

It’s definitely beginning to look, and SOUND, a lot like Christmas! This morning on the Blues and Arts Hour, we were again privileged to welcome into the studio, one of Ms.’s treasures. . . stringed instrumentalist and music instructor Tim Avalon. Tim brought some of his students with him and we were treated to some “live” Christmas music! A must hear! Catch it w/out commercials at: wyab.com/twh/Tim&FriendsChristmas2023WYAB.mp3 Again, many thanks to the sponsor of the program, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Mississippi. It’s good to be blue! Next Friday (Dec. 22nd), we’ll go back in the archives and enjoy the show we had with trombonist, singer/songwriter Jeff Callaway. And the following Friday, (Dec. 29th), the program with had with Chris Gill. After that, on Friday, Jan. 5th, we’ll look at some of the highlights of the Blues and Arts Hour from 2023. Wishing ya’ll a wonderful Christmas! Christ is Born!!!
