💭 “How often should I be posting on Social Media?” | This is the question that gets asked A LOT, and here is the answer…

Creating quality content (backed by strategy) and posting content weekly can be a struggle. I always tell people, if they are going to do it alone, find a posting schedule that works best for them and remain consistent.

Post frequency is different for every business and is dependent on many factors, but I can tell you, posting everyday is not always necessary. For most, I recommend posting at least 3x weekly.

You want to make sure that you are remaining active so that when people search for your business or come across it on social media, you don’t look dormant.

🤞 Keep in mind: Platforms that are chronologically structured, high-frequency posting is better, while those that are algorithmic-based, posting too much can drag down the performance of your page.

🗓 2022 was a wild ride for social | Here are a few trends to look out for this year 👇

1️⃣ LESS TRENDY - MORE ORIGINALITY: In 2022, we saw success with reels as Instagram was desperate to compete with TikTok. This meant we saw a lot of creators and businesses jumping on trends for the sake of the trend without really making it relevant to their niche or business.

And for the most part, this worked, but this year, we expect to see this fade out and platforms will start to favor original content over trending content.

2️⃣ LINKEDIN CREATORS: LinkedIn Creators will be HUGE. This began to happen over the last half of 2022, and I fully believe that 2023 will be the year for LinkedIn Creators. By becoming a thought-leader in your field, let other professionals see how valuable your knowledge, skills, and services are!

(P.S. Although LinkedIn is a professional platform, don’t be afraid to let your creativity show!)

3️⃣ SOCIAL SEO: Yep, SEO has made its way to social, it’s no longer just for websites. What does that mean for you? Fill your copy full of keywords so that when people are searching for your product or a specific service, your content ranks first.

FYI: According to Google itself, nearly half of Gen-Z search Instagram or TikTok BEFORE using Google.

✅ Your customers + your audience are more than likely on social media. Why wouldn't you be there, too?

✅ Advertising on social media is substantially less expensive than traditional advertising. If you're target audience are Millennials or Gen-Z, we stream the majority of our television and music ➡️ if you're pouring your advertising budget into Radio and TV Ads... we aren't seeing your product.

✅ Build Brand Awareness: Show people who you are, what you offer and what you're about.

✅ Use social media not only to promote your business, but humanize your brand. Have fun + build trust amongst your followers.

•STEP 1: RESEARCH
Think: Who are you selling to?

What problem does the consumer have that your product/service can provide the solution to?

Where are they more likely to be hanging out at on social? (PS, you don’t need to be on every platform to be successful. Your audience more than likely WILL NOT be on all of them.)

•STEP 2: BRAINSTORM IDEAS.

•STEP 3: CREATE
Content can be Written, Visual + Audible
- Blogs
- Podcasts
- Graphics
- Photo
- Video (long-form + short-form)

•STEP 4: EDIT
Once I finish creating, I like to step away for a bit.

Once I come back, I look to see if there are any changes I want to make or any errors I need to correct. *Getting a second pair of eyes to double check spelling is always a good idea*

• STEP 5: PUBLISH
Publish your content based on data. What are your best days/times to post? Use that as a guideline when scheduling.

📻 I began freelancing in 2020, after working at a radio station, trying to sell radio ads to small businesses who could barely afford to keep their doors open because of the pandemic. ⁠

I didn't believe in what I was selling, I truly hated selling (I still do) and I ended up leaving my job after a couple months.👋⁠

I have been working with small businesses in North Alabama and companies out of state to build up their digital presence on social media platforms. ⁠

💻Typically, I work mornings before my 9-5, afternoons after my 9-5, and on weekends.⁠

I spend most Saturday's in front of my computer (easily 10+ hours) creating + scheduling content, and researching trends within this industry or the industries of my clients, and some days it truly does feel like I am neck deep in a digital 💩 storm-it's a constant learning curve.
