AITA for "humiliating" my cousin at a family dinner?

I(19m) have a sister Aria(16f). I also have a cousin Kat(22f). Kat has been trying to get into college ever since she graduated from high school, but it just wasn't happening. She got rejected from every college she applied to. She finally got into a college this year. Aria is graduating this year. She has already been accepted to a college, so she will also be starting this year. They will both be going to the same college.

Last week was my grandpa's birthday. My parents, Aria and I were at his place with Kat and her family, along with another uncle's family (not important). At dinner, grandpa started asking Aria about her plans for college. Aria told him that she will be staying on campus. Kat chimes in about how colleges should stop accepting students who graduate early. Note that graduating early is a pretty common thing here. She then directly attacked Aria saying it wasn't fair that she had to "share college experience with immature babies" and how "pearl clutchers" steal the limited number of seats available from the people who work hard to go to college. She then indirectly called my sister a self centered brat. I mean, Aria and Kat barely are ever in the same room, so it's not like my sister always steals the spotlight from Kat.

This wasn't the first time Kat accused Aria of being self centered. My sister looked close to tears so I literally said to Kat that the only self centered immature baby in the room was her. She didn't say anything but got quiet...

AITA for suggesting that my wife doesn’t wear certain leggings out?

Backstory- we live in a low income area and there are lots of skeevy dudes that hang out in the neighborhood by the liquor store and by the bus stop. My wife (26 yo) works from home and likes to go for a daily walk to the convenience store a few blocks away for coffee and breakfast. She is always telling me how local guys give her l__d looks and sometimes make creepy comments while she’s out walking.

Yesterday, she called me from the convenience store and asked that I pick her up as there was a creep driving slowly by her while staring. I work from home, so I didn’t have an issue taking the 2 minute drive to get her. She asks me to do this roughly once a week. When she gets into the car, she tells me about the l__d looks that she gets, and I suggested that she not wear her TikTok leggings out in our neighborhood due to the rude guys that are always out. (For those unaware, the TikTok leggings are the ‘b__t scrunch’ leggings designed to really show off one’s b__t by scrunching up in the back and going right up the b__t crack). She almost instantly says that it is a misogynistic thing to say and that she should be able to wear whatever she likes. I agree with her that she ‘should’ be able to wear whatever she likes, but by wearing them she is attracting unwanted attention. I tell her that the guys are pigs, and that they are as****es for making her feel this way....

AITA for not giving a single mother part of my company?

Alright everyone, so I’ve been an avid reddit user for many years, and this sub is probably what consumes most of my time on here. Never thought I would make my own post, but here I am. This happened a few days ago but I’m still not sure whether or not I made the right call. I felt most uncertain after reading a post on here yesterday about how a guy (who is apparently a freakin’ saint) handled evicting his pregnant roommate/tenant.

About 10 years ago, I (m33) and a former friend/business partner of mine (f33) started a company. We started building this thing from the ground up, through blood sweat and tears (well minus the blood, but there were definitely tears..), and after many set backs we finally got to an operational stage after 2 years. Thing is, even a year later, profits were low, and so we were still living like college students. To keep things short, my partner fell in love, started to lose faith in the business, and decided she wanted to start a family instead.

I bought her share of the company off of her, which wasn’t much at the time (~$50,000), but it still took me about a year to pay her off since most of my money was going right back into the company. I gotta be honest, while I eventually came to terms with it, I was originally (to put it kindly) not happy that she left. We both handled aspects of the company that the other person didn’t have experience in, so I was basically swimming against...

AITA for exposing my ex fiancé and his side chick?

I 25f have been with my 34m fiancé for over 2 years in my last month of pregnancy I found out he was messing with his cousins baby mama. I at first reached out to the woman to make myself known everything like that and she told me she was married and I'm insecure (she's a licensed therapist) I asked them both to stop .. they didn't .

My beautiful child came into the world and when my child was 3 weeks old I found out my fiancé picked her up in my car and was back over at her house. I asked him again please stop I just had your kid they didn't they kept going and she was laughing at me so I went to her business page and her personal page and reached out to her kids dad to expose them and what they have been doing. She since had called me threatening to get my kid taken away from me and saying she's going to pull up to my house and that she is pressing charges for defamation of her character my ex fiancé is saying I put him in a dangerous situation am I wrong ?

AITA for wearing a bikini even though my sister just had a baby?

Basically the title.

I (26F) am on a family vacation (parents, sister Rachel (30), her son (1), her husband Adam (31), and my husband and our daughter (2)). We are by the sea and yesterday was the first time we’d be going to a beach club.

My sister asked me not to wear a bikini or anything revealing because she said both she and Adam are not feeling the best about her postpartum body and she really doesn’t want to bring the topic up. I said I was sorry she feels that way but I wasn’t going to spend a day roasting under an umbrella, unable to swim or enjoy myself. I said tons of women would be in bikinis so I didn’t see why I made a difference.

We went to the beach and Rachel was a wreck all day, and refuse to come with us to the beach today,

My parents are now saying I’m the AH for not just wearing a cover up that you can still swim in and that if I keep wearing swimwear it’s going to ruin the trip.

AITA?

Edit - re Adam and the body thing. Yes, you read it right. Rachel didn’t elaborate but I presume Adam has made some kind of comments because several times during and after Rachel’s pregnancy, he asked me about my postpartum diet/workout regimen. I was vague about it but did end up telling him I’d had surgery and various non-invasive treatments and that diet/exercise was not the deciding factor. He stopped asking.

And the mom too...

AITA for telling my wife we aren't getting a new car until she gets a job?

My wife is a sahm to our two kids ages 15 and 13. I do most of the budgeting and finances, but try to involve her, but she's simply "not interested" she says. We are comfortable financially, mostly because I've always avoided debt and been frugal, we also live in a lcol city, which helps alot. My wife is the spender between us and it seems she's always pushing the limits and wanting to spend more on lifestyle, mostly for her, like makeup, eyelashes, haircare, face creams, nails, waxing, etc. We set a budget of $800 for each of us to spend on whatever we want, but she always uses hers up, then wants me to pay for takeout or buy her things on amazon because "I don't even spend much." It's true, I mostly garden, hike, bike, read, but I do save up sometimes for big ticket items like a new kindle or scribe, or a new bike. I've explained that it's not fair for her to ask for my spending money, just because she spends hers quickly. Well, recently we paid off our mortgage, because I had been paying extra every month and she said "Good, now we can buy a new car" I refused and said that money is going towards our investment accounts so we can have a comfortable retirement. When we met, we always talked about retiring early and traveling the world, and we still have regular conversations about it, so I don't think she's changed her mind, unless it was in the past month. Anyway, she was mad saying that I was...

AITA for locking up my stuff so my wife will not touch it

I like to 3D print and paint miniatures. I have a whole work area downstairs with a lot of tools and art supplies. My wife also like to art/crafts and will sometimes take my stuff.

This is a problem, she has ADHD and never puts my supplies back. I have found my expensive paint literally in the bathroom before. She has used my airbrush before and just left without cleaning it out. I spent hours getting it to work again becuase the paint hardened.

I have talked to her multiple time to put things back and she claims she will and then never does. One of the reason she grabs my stuff is becuase she never knows where her art crap is…

I am sick of not having my stuff where it is suppose to be, I can deal with shared items being in weird places just not this. Talking to her has never fixed the issue. Neither has asking her to not use my art stuff.

I put a lock on the cabinet where my art supplies is. When she saw it she was pi**ed and we got into an argument

She is mad that I am locking her out of stuff in our shared home . My point was everything above

AITAH for not sponsoring my friends honeymoon.

I've known my friend for almost five years, and we've always been good friends, but not particularly close. She recently got engaged to her boyfriend of 8 years and started planning her dream wedding, which, from what I've heard, is extravagant and way out of budget. Her parents are paying for the gown and venue, while his parents are covering the food, decor, and other expenses. They have three kids together, and money has always been tight due to their growing family.

A couple of months ago, we went out for drinks, and all she could talk about was how she deserved her dream honeymoon but couldn't afford it. I felt bad for her. I have been working as a registered nurse for quite a while and my pay was good and I had some money saved up as well. so I decided to offer to sponsor her honeymoon in Hawaii, which she eagerly accepted and was grateful for. However, things took a turn for the worse when we went shopping for bridesmaids' dresses.

She insisted we wear a particular lilac dress, which was revealing and uncomfortable, especially for someone like me, who doesn't have a zero-figure and is on the b***y side. When I expressed my discomfort, she made a cruel joke about my appearance, comparing me to a baby elephant and suggesting I lose weight. I asked if I could wear a different dress in the same color, but she dismissed me and implied that my size was the problem.

When I tried on the dress, it was a disaster, my stomach looked...

AITA For going out to dinner without my husband?

I'm a 27f sahm mother of 4, soon to be 5. My husband hasn't attempted to take me out on a date since right before our 4th child was born 9 months ago. Mind you, I had to cry and beg for that date. Before that date it had been around almost 2 years since he had taken me on a date. He isn't exactly interested in going out with me because of him being tired and just not being interested. He'll make excuses about money or a sitter when we have those things to spare. I took the hint and stopped asking. In fact, I see why. I mean, there's not much more to me than "mommy" so why would he want to?

My husband works a lot and I understand that he's often tired. I take care of the kids and our home as well as everything else that doesn't fall to him. Because I don't work I try my best to make sure he feels special and appreciated. I give him massages, home made dinners, clean home, and I literally serve him. Of course putting out isnt an issue because we have 5 kids just about.. This man doesn't usually have to lift a finger when he comes home unless its to interact and play with his kids because he's a good dad who loves them. I tend to everyone's needs without any regards to my own.

My younger brother is home from college to visit my mother and family. After telling me about the date he had with his girlfriend before he...

WIBTAH if I refused to eat food from my in-law’s house during our visit?

Hi everyone, I’m pretty stressed about this and would appreciate your opinions. Using a throwaway.

My husband (23M) and I (23F) have families who live far apart from one another, so we always split the holidays. This year, we are spending Thanksgiving with my parents, and Christmas with his. Because of our work schedules, we’ll only be with his family for about 3 days at Christmastime.

Recently, my husband visited his parents for a few days and stayed at their house. When he returned, he told me that the refrigerator and freezer at his parents’ house was completely broken, and all the food within it was spoiling within days, if not hours of being purchased. I told him that that was a bummer, and asked when his parents were planning on getting it fixed. He then told me that (against his own wishes), his parents had no plans to get it fixed anytime soon. In fact, the refrigerator had apparently already been broken for weeks before he arrived. His parents and younger sibling were eating spoiled or semi-spoiled food.

I told him that I thought that was crazy, and he agreed with me. He said that he refrained from eating anything that needed to be refrigerated while he was there, which was easy to do because most of the time he was hanging out at a friend’s house and eating restaurant/fast food. But this won’t be the case around the holidays. This is where I could potentially be TAH: I told him that if we arrived at Christmastime and the fridge/freezer still wasn’t fixed, then...
