Manipulation is not a minor misunderstanding. It’s intentional deception. It’s someone studying your values, mirroring your standards, and performing the version of themselves they know you’ll trust.
Being lied to is not the same as lacking discernment. You cannot “choose better” when the truth was strategically hidden.
Accountability belongs to the person who faked integrity — not the person who believed it.
Discernment grows with experience. But deception is a choice.
And no one deserves to be blamed for trusting what was carefully staged to look real.
