I write this in awe of my day yesterday. I was sitting next to a kind man on my Southwest flight 1050. He asked me what I did for a living, and anyone who knows me knows that I am a talker. I began telling him how much I love my job. Teaching is my passion. When he asked me the greatest challenge that I face I was honest with him. I told him that working at a low income school can be heartbreaking. We talked about the world and how no child should ever do without.
In 2018 kids should never be hungry or in need of anything. He asked for my work contact information and told me that his company likes to donate items, time, etc for schools such as mine. I was not intending for him to say that, and then gave him my school email. Then something amazing happened…
The man behind me tapped my shoulder. I turned around and he apologized for listening in to my conversation, and he handed me a wad of cash. He told me to “do something amazing” and sat back down. I was in complete awe that I had touched a stranger. I realized that there was $100 on top, and started to cry. I thanked him and told him how I would buy my students books and give back to the community. I didn’t count the money from that man, but I would later find out that he gave me $500.
Then something even more amazing happened. The plane landed and the man on the aisle across from me told me that he listened as well. He said that he didn’t have much, but he gave me $20. As if my heart couldn’t be any happier the man in front turns around as well. He also handed me money, and said that he only had $10.
I started crying on the plane. I told all four men that I would do something amazing for the kids. I was not telling my story to solicit money, and never intended to walk out of that flight with anything other than my carry on. I do however hope that posting this continues the chain reaction of people helping those in need, and especially the children in need. It doesn’t have to be a school in Chicago, and any bit helps!
My heart is in complete shock and awe right now. When the world seems crazy there are always good people. I would do anything for my students, and want to thank these strangers. I don’t know the name of the man who gave me the $500 or the other generous strangers, but they deserve to be recognized. I am thankful for the good people in this world. No child should ever go without anything. This experience made me want to do more for the kids, and use my gift of speaking to help others in need. I want to pass this story around, and thank those strangers and their amazing hearts!

I may be getting older, but it still blows my mind how many people are perfectly fine with kids destroying furniture for stickers I mean, this is a beautiful MCM cabinet! There are
so many other places to let them express themselves without wrecking something valuable. I was raised to respect what was an investment for my parents, and l've made sure to instill that in my own kids too.

My friends and I went out for dinner, and we left $20 tip on a $250 bill. The waiter didn't take it well and told us we shouldn't be going out to eat if we can't afford to tip at least 50%. Now we're wondering if $20 isn't really enough. That 20 bucks was all the extra we had.

My son just received this miscut $20 bill from the ATM. We are wondering if it's worth anything.

I ordered Taco Bell on DoorDash, tipped $5, and when I opened the bag there was a note inside that said "5$? You go to hell!!" Like...what? Bro, you dropped off a chalupa and a crunch wrap supreme, not a kidney transplant. Let's do the math. My order was about $10. I tipped half the total, 50%, for someone to drive less than 15 minutes and drop off a bag on my doorstep. That's more than fair. But apparently we've reached the point where $5 is considered offensive. So tell me, what exactly are we tipping for now? These apps already charge a service fee, a delivery fee, tax, and an unexplained "processing fee". We're one step away from paying a "thank you" fee just for existing. If $5 for a $10 dollar meal sends you into a rage, maybe delivery isn't the right job. I didn't realize I was supposed to cover your rent for handing me a taco. 😐😐😐

Today I went to go pick up my DoorDash and the delivery driver looks me dead in the eyes and goes, ‘$12 tip? You’re f**ked.’ LIKE???? Bro, I thought $12 was GOOD?? That’s literally half the meal 😭

And then this is the part that sent me he straight up ate my fries. Just stood there, bold as hell, chewing MY fries while telling ME I’m messed up. I’m standing there holding the bag like a divorced parent picking up their kid late from school.

I don’t know what universe I’m living in anymore. I’m frustrated, I’m confused, I’m hungry, and apparently I’m a bad tipper now. Oh my god. I’m so cooked.

Our 7 year old boy decided to go into my wife's purse and proceeded to remove 5 $100 bills and cut them up into pieces. He offered no viable excuse other than, "I don't know, I got bored". How would you go about teaching him the value of a dollar in light of his actions? What would that be a sufficient punishment to teach him that what he did was wrong? We want him to learn a lasting lesson from this, but also be fair in the process. What are you thoughts?

I came home thinking I was about to unlock my door and relax for the night, and instead I’m greeted by **this** taped up like a wanted poster. Big bold “UNDER EVICTION!” with the Grinch smiling at me like this is some kind of holiday prank.

Not even a normal notice. No envelope. No knock. Just straight public shaming taped to the door for anyone walking by to read. And the little message at the bottom talking about “hope you asked Santa for boxes and packing tape” like this is supposed to be funny. I’m sorry — am I being evicted or roasted?

What really gets me is the balance written in pen like someone just made it up on the spot. No breakdown. No explanation. Just a number and vibes. I’m standing there rereading it like… since when did eviction notices turn into festive sarcasm flyers?

Nothing makes you feel more stable than having your housing situation turned into a Christmas joke for the hallway.

Be careful out there, folks! One of my employees at the local Beaumont Whataburger took this “$100” bill as payment for someone’s Double Whataburger plaine dry with cheese. It feels like real money, even smells like real money, but the president’s forehead is way too dang big and the “100” printings look nothing like the real ones I handle every single day. And trust me, I’d know — I’ve been working at this Whataburger since I graditated high school 5 years ago.

I found this fake bill during my end-of-night cash audit and just about lost my mind. I had to suspend the employee who accepted it (pending investigation, of course) because who knows if they were in on the scam.

After crunching the numbers and declaring a $100 loss, I made sure nobody else could pass this thing around. I confiscated it and took it home with me — better safe than sorry before someone else falls for this obviously fake bill.

So keep your eyes open, y’all. People are sneaky out here and always trying to get one over on big corporations like Whataburger!

HOLY FU***NG S**T ARE YOU KIDDING ME. I dropped my car off for a normal car wash and while they were cleaning it, one of the workers came over and asked if I knew about something under the dashboard. He held up a small microphone clipped in a spot nobody casually checks, and I genuinely had no idea it was even there.

That is when it really hit me. I did not find it, they did, which means it could have been sitting there for who knows how long. No explanation, no paperwork, no clue who put it there or why, just something designed to listen tucked into a personal space.

What really sets me off is knowing someone installed or left that there and never thought it was worth mentioning. That is not forgetful, that is reckless and invasive. If this feels normal to anyone, that says everything about how comfortable some people are crossing boundaries and pretending it is no big deal.
