I had the opportunity to interview Lourdes Edsey , President of — a non‑profit organization supporting the community through service, connection, and education for women since 1975.

They host monthly meetings, social activities, and partner with groups such as to support local causes.

Many of their events help raise funds for community initiatives, including scholarships for local high school students. A wonderful place to connect, serve, and make an impact in Flower Mound.

Del Campo Empanadas

If you’re craving Argentinian empanadas, this is the spot in Flower Mound. I recently visited this family owned business in Lakeside, and let me tell you — their variety is incredible.

From the Argentine Style Beef to spinach, and so many flavors in between, they’ve got something for every taste and every event.

With the World Cup around the corner and a busy season ahead, this is the perfect time to support a local business that brings authentic flavor to our community.

And as we continue celebrating Mother’s Day, Mound Up proudly highlights and uplifts the local businesses that make Flower Mound feel like home.

Local flavor. Local love. Mound Up.

✨We had the opportunity to interview Madison from Journey to Dream Foundation, a powerful organization dedicated to helping teens overcome challenges like homelessness, instability, and difficult life circumstances, while guiding them toward a brighter future. 💙

Through mentorship, life skills programs, and a safe, supportive environment, they empower young people to build confidence, find direction, and truly believe in their potential.

One of the most meaningful ways to get involved is by becoming a volunteer and making a direct impact in a teen’s life. They are also having amazing events where you can show your support and connect with the community.

📅 Upcoming Events:

• King Metals Golf Invitational this Thursday, April 23rd at the Stonebriar Country Club

• Bloom and Bubbles on Saturday, April 25th at the Shops of Highland Village. Cerulean Coffee House will provide free coffee

• Bike with the Blue on May 2nd at Lakeside, Flower Mound

• Women on Purpose Luncheon and Fashion show on May 14th at Sparrow in Main done by Tallula’s and the Bees Knees

Today, we had the opportunity to join a beloved tradition—a Sunrise Service that takes place every Easter Sunday here in Flower Mound.

Organized by The Flower Mound Foundation, Women of Flower Mound, and The Summit Club of Flower Mound, it was a beautiful morning. Delicious donuts, hot chocolate , juice, and coffee were handed out.

It was a truly beautiful service, and we look forward to next year—we can’t wait to see you all again!

Closing Women’s History Month with inspiration and gratitude 💐

I had the honor of interviewing the wonderful Angie Cox, a woman deeply committed to our community. Her service speaks for itself: she has served on the Lewisville ISD School Board and is a board member/ member of organizations such as Women of Flower Mound and Keep Flower Mound Beautiful.

She also volunteers with Communities In Schools, serves as a mentor, and is actively involved in several initiatives that make a positive impact in our community. And as if that weren’t enough, she is stepping into one of her most important roles as District Governor in our Rotary district.

Angie is an outstanding Rotarian—always involved, always giving, and always putting her heart into everything she does. 💙

Flower Mound is a better place because of people like her.

🌸 Hidden Gem in Flower Mound 🌸

As we continue celebrating Women’s Month, I had the pleasure of sitting down with an inspiring local business owner — Nona, the heart behind Dalton Flowers

Tucked inside our local funeral home, this flower shop is truly a hidden gem in our community. What makes it even more special is Nona’s story. Through hard work, passion, and dedication, she has grown her business while staying deeply committed to giving back and supporting our community.

Nona is always showing up — donating, participating, and making a difference in Flower Mound.

It was an honor to feature her on Mound Up and share her journey of passion and service.

💐 Don’t miss her story and be sure to support this incredible, woman-owned local business!
