👉 Swipe through the post to explore the key benefits, then tune into this week’s podcast to hear from Tai Chi instructor and retired RN Edna Silva on how it’s changing lives.
Did you know that regular Tai Chi practice can reduce the risk of falls in seniors by up to 45 percent?
In this week’s podcast episode, I sat down with my amazing Aunt Edna Silva—retired nurse and Tai Chi enthusiast—to talk about how this ancient practice is helping older adults stay active, independent, and vibrant.
Tai Chi is more than just slow, graceful movements. It improves balance, builds strength, enhances flexibility, and even supports mental well-being. With falls being one of the leading causes of injury in older adults, adding something like Tai Chi to a wellness routine can truly be life-changing.
Have you ever wondered how Tai Chi could help aging adults stay active, strong, and independent? This week, I sat down with someone very special, my Aunt Edna Silva, a retired registered nurse with 60 years of experience and a passionate Tai Chi practitioner. Together, we explored how this gentle, flowing practice holds powerful benefits for older adults. ❤️
Tai Chi is more than just graceful movement, it improves aerobic capacity, builds strength, increases flexibility, and enhances balance. Edna shared fascinating research showing that regular practice can reduce fall risk by up to 45%, making it a powerful tool in promoting longevity and quality of life.
If you’re caring for an aging loved one or simply want to stay active as you grow older, this episode is packed with insights you won’t want to miss.
When a loved one begins showing signs of Dementia or Alzheimer’s, it is natural to want to focus on the moment. But one of the most helpful things you can do for both you and your loved one is to start planning for memory care early.
The reality is, memory care transitions take time. From researching facilities to completing medical forms, financial paperwork, and legal documents like powers of attorney, the process can quickly become overwhelming—especially in the middle of an emergency.
By preparing in advance, you give yourself the time and space to make thoughtful decisions, explore the best options, and avoid rushed choices under pressure. You also help ensure your loved one receives the right kind of care when they need it most.
Not sure where to start? A senior placement service can walk you through the process, connect you with local memory care communities, and help with the paperwork at no cost to you.
Planning ahead is one of the kindest things you can do. Give us a call anytime for assistance ➡️ 214-783-1222

Caring for someone with Dementia is a full-time job and everyone needs a break sometimes. ❤️
One often-overlooked resource? Faith-based organizations. Many churches and places of worship offer adult day stay programs where your loved one can spend a few hours or even the whole day in a safe and supportive environment.
These programs give caregivers time to rest, run errands, or simply recharge, knowing their loved one is being well cared for.
Other helpful resources to explore:
✔️ Local senior centers
✔️ The Alzheimer’s Association’s support groups and helplines
✔️ Community-based adult day programs
You do not have to do it all alone and you should not. Taking care of yourself is just as important as caring for your loved one. 💕
Caring for someone with Dementia is not just a full time job, it’s often a full-family effort. And while caregivers pour so much into their loved one’s wellbeing, their own health and needs can quietly slip away…
In this powerful episode, I am joined by Megan Rowe, Senior Program Manager with the Alzheimer’s Association (Dallas & Northeast Texas Chapter), to talk about the 10 symptoms of caregiver stress and how to recognize, manage, and prevent burnout before it becomes overwhelming.
We are talking about real life strategies to protect both your loved one and yourself. From community resources and respite care to everyday self-care and emotional support, this episode is a must-listen for any dementia caregiver.
