Mississippi SBDC

I spoke with Don Calcote, Financial Analysis Lead with the Mississippi Small Business Development Center (SBDC) , to learn more about the resources available to entrepreneurs across our state.

During our conversation, we discussed common challenges business owners face, the importance of understanding your financial statements, and why having a great idea isn’t enough.

Don shared that building a successful business requires passion, persistence, and the willingness to keep going long before customers start lining up at your door.

We also discussed why many businesses struggle with working capital and why learning your numbers can be one of the most important investments you make as a business owner.

A reminder that building a successful business isn’t just about having a great idea, it’s also about having access to the right knowledge, resources, and support along the way.

One business story is all of our stories and moments like these remind us that we’re more alike than we are different.
