A very happy 1st anniversary, to my Unbirthday universe. This was the second single off the EP, as well as its title track. It set the tone, detailing all the dark inner corners of my mind and exploring my mental wonderland. I am truly humbled — not only by how much it resonated with people, but just how many people who watched and listened to it just… “got it.” 🤍 While hosting a virtual reunion last night on my IG livestream with the cast of characters featured in this visual, we noted just how much the viewers caught onto so many things about it. They theorized, they pointed out things that I never thought they would notice. They even made me see my own work from different perspectives, allowing me to dive into their own interpretations. As an artist, I CANNOT EXPLAIN just how much this makes our world go ‘round. To reach people through your art. To speak to them through your lyrics. To connect with them through your creativity. To have them interpret your work, your scattered creations that are painted with a pallet of passion and unwavering perseverance, and primed with the shameless vulnerability that you so often fight to suppress but was, cannot. Because you are an artist, and this life is embedded deep within your soul. It is inevitable. It is a gift. And it’s a journey.
