The Charlton County Herald is a community newspaper serving Folkston, Homeland, St. George and all of Charlton County, Georgia. The paper is published weekly, placed on newsstands Tuesday evening and delivered to our subscribers by mail on Wednesdays, except when postal holidays alter the schedule. The Herald's news coverage focuses primarily on Charlton County, its cities and communities, as well as broader issues affecting its residents. The Herald is the legal organ for Charlton County.

📢📢REMINDER AGAIN!
PARADE UPDATE FOR THE 2025 OKEFENOKEE FESTIVAL
There has been a slight update to the parade route, the parade will now circle back to Martin Street via Okefenokee Pkwy. Lineup for all parade participants will remain the same tomorrow morning at 9:15 AM.

📣 Official 2025 Okefenokee Festival Map & Important Info! 🎉

We’re thrilled to share the official festival map for this year’s event! 🐊

🚧 Road Closures:
Main Street will close Friday, October 10th at 6:00 PM and will reopen Saturday, October 11th at 4:00 PM.

🚗 Parking:
Free public parking is available at the Annex Building located at 68 Kingsland Dr, Folkston, GA 31537 — you may park in the main lot or behind the building in the open field.

🐾 Friendly Reminder:
We kindly ask that you leave pets at home. Service animals are always welcome.
