Christmas Stollen Bread 🤩 getting ready for this year's batch 😉👌

Recipe below
Ingredients:
☆ 500g flour
☆ 100g sugar
☆ 9g yeast
☆ 1 cup warm milk
☆ 1 large egg
☆ 2 egg yolks
☆ 2 tsp vanilla extract
☆ 1 tsp salt
☆ 3/4 tsp ground cardamom
☆ 3/4 tsp nutmeg
☆ 1/2 tsp cinnamon
☆ Zest of 2 lemons
☆ 170g soft butter
☆ 350g total of dried fruits, candied lemon peel, candied orange peel, and almonds, (I put 85g candied lemon and orange, 50g raisins, 85g cranberries, 20g apricots, 30g dates, 85g almonds)
☆ 1/3 cup of rum or a little more
Instructions:
》Make sure to soak the dried fruits in rum overnight
》Put 2 Tbsp of sugar and the yeast in the warm milk and let it activate for 5 to 10 min
》In the bowl of a stand mixer, put all the other ingredients and mix with the hook, then add the yeast mixture and mix
》Knead for 8 minutes
》Put some oil in a bowl and add the dough, cover it, and let it rest for 1 to 2 hours in a warm place until it doubles
》Punch the dough and add the soaked fruits little by little and mix it well with your hands
》Put it on a floured surface and cut it into 2 halves, Flatten, and fold
》Put them on parchment paper on the tray and cover and let them rest for 45 to 60 min
》Bake in a preheated oven at 350F/176C for 30 to 40 min depending on the oven until golden, then broil the top for a couple of minutes
**** Poke holes into the bread with a toothpick and brush generously with melted butter while hot, then sprinkle with a good good amount of powdered sugar
》Let it cool completely
Note: it is better to be wrapped with plastic wrap and left to ripen for 2 weeks to get the best flavors or eaten directly if you can't wait😅
