We were building a new Christmas tree for the cats, and Teri sat patiently and poised to show she wanted a little bit of love. She’s the sweetest soul.

Today the crew decided that the trees on the photo set up looked too tempting and just had to give them a climb.

While getting some cleaning done before starting the Christmas decorations, we decided to try Teri with a harness. She’s never had one on before, but she handled it like a pro. She might be dressed for the wrong season, though - Halloween tones are her perfect color palate.

Important Announcement for PET CLIENTS ONLY***

Starting in January 2026, breeders in the State of California will no longer be able to accept non-refundable down payments for a Waitlist. While the law's purpose is to reduce scams, its unintended consequence is that it eliminates a process that has helped us maintain the highest-quality placements for our kittens.

Our Waitlist has always served a very real purpose. It removes impulse buyers. It creates space for thoughtful decision-making. It attracts people with patience who value our extensive health-testing history and our depth of knowledge. It has been one of the most effective tools we have ever used for matching our kittens with families who truly know what they want in a Bengal, are prepared to meet its needs, and are willing to wait for a beautiful, health-tested cat with the personality they desire.

Because of the upcoming law, December 2025 is the final opportunity to join our Waitlist under our current system.

Throughout 2026, we will take time to rethink and redesign our process rather than rushing into something new. During that time, we will continue working with everyone already on our Waitlist, including those who join this month. Your place in line and the benefits of our current system will remain intact.

If you have been considering joining our Waitlist, we can only accept new applicants through the end of the month.

Our application can be found at:
https://quality-bengal-kittens.com/bengal-kitten-application

Those joining the list now are likely to be offered a kitten ready to go home by June of 2026. We have a few kittens available soon who will be ready to go home in January, but they will likely be selected by those already on our Waitlist. We have a few cats who may be pregnant, but we never count on that as a sure thing. The Cat's cycle is tied to the sun, and they will begin to breed again when the days start to lengthen at the new year. Those kittens will be ready for their homes in June.

***We have a completely different process for breeders and do not accept down payments, as we seldom offer cats with breeding rights.

Our Story

It all started with a seemingly simple question on a Facebook discussion board. "Does anyone feed whole prey, and if so, does anyone raise their own?"

Apparently, the answer is not so simple. Publicly the responses ranged from "Ewww" to "How could you do that?" There was no meaningful information offered until I received a PM from Jon. Jon lived on a farm in Scotland and raised a sizable portion of his cats' food. I was able to ask Jon a few more detailed questions, mainly about dispatching, and decided that part of the process was not something I could do. Thus, the conversations tailed off.

But fate was determined to try again. Some time later, I had a particular litter of kittens on the way that was Jon's match made in heaven. Jon had his eyes on my white bellied girl Maisie Dobbs, and he had also had his eyes on WinsomeBG Head On of Sunshine. When he got word that they had bred, he got back in touch in search of a kitten. I didn't think chances were high of Jon getting his kitten - other inquires on this upcoming litter had already come in. Jon was fifth in line. But Maisie knew there was more in store than a kitten sale, and she defied the odds to produce a litter of all snows. Much to the disappointment of the four in front of Jon who all wanted browns, he ended up with second pick of the litter - after me, of course - and Solana Ranch Swooned by the Swallows of Wildernesswell can be credited with bringing us together.

Jon and I were both in different places in our life paths from the first time we chatted about whole prey. As we began to discuss the details of the litter of Snowflakes, a genuine friendship formed and an attraction grew. But we lived on opposite sides of the world - Jon in Scotland and I in California; a relationship wasn't exactly realistic. Besides those people you meet online are never who they make themselves out to be, right?
