10/10 Recommend a 90's cookbook and crafts party with the girls! It was so fun to step away from everyday life for a minute and enjoy fellowship together. We each picked a recipe from the 1990's Southern Living book and we made boondoggle keychains (mine turned out the worst out of everyone's and that is why you get no picture of it š).
One of the biggest lessons I am learning in this season is that I cannot pour from an empty cup. It was so easy before becoming a mom (and sick) to have my cup overflowing (Jesus, church, friends, family, hobbies, career, etc.). Now I have discovered that many of the things that used to completely fill my cup had started to drain it due to lack of time for them, having to cancel on people all of the time, not having the time/energy to pour into relationships like I used to. It tends to make me feel like I am failing instead of making me feel fulfilled. I have been very focused on ensuring I am putting in some time and energy to redefine what it means for my cup to be filled and which things tend to fill it. Right now, those things are spending time with Jesus, church/bible study, quality time with my family (at home and with our parents/siblings), spending time with friends and doing life together, and learning about/implementing systems to help with my chronic conditions.
What was meant to be a fun get together for the girls in our lifegroup turned into one of the key moments last week that poured into my cup. Thankful to Jesus for all of the blessings I have - today's emphasis is the blessing of the people he has surrounded me with. God put the absolute best people in my "village" and I will always be so grateful for that.
What is something in your life that you are grateful for today?
